2026 marks the nineteenth (19th) edition of Antwerp Pride. From Wednesday 5 to Sunday 9 August, Antwerp in Belgium will once again be taken over by rainbow vibes. Prides are a mix of celebration – parties – and activism and advocacy. For the 2026 edition, the organising committee focuses on fearing less and being fearless.
‘Do not just march! Listen. Understand. Commit.‘ in 2025, ‘Many Voices, One Pride‘ in 2024, ‘Braveolution‘ in 2023, ‘Queertopia‘ in 2022, ‘Not Just Words‘ in 2021, ‘Together We Pride‘ in 2020, ‘RIOT‘ in 2019, ‘Identity‘ in 2018… This is as far back I can find the previous themes.
On Thursday 2 April 2026, at a kick-off event at the Antwerp SD Worx headquarters, Antwerp Pride has announced ‘Fearless‘ as the official theme for its 2026 edition, a message intended to reflect both resilience and solidarity within the LGBTQIA+ community at a time when uncertainty and anxiety are growing in many parts of the world.
The theme can be read in two ways: ‘Fearless’, meaning without fear, and ‘Fear Less‘, a call to reduce the power that fear can have over people’s lives. According to the organisers, the concept emerged from a long internal reflection about the current social climate and the emotions felt within the community.
In recent years, many LGBTQIA+ people have expressed concerns about rising hostility, political tensions and social pressure. At the same time, there is a strong desire within the community to respond with visibility, solidarity and pride.
For Antwerp Pride, the theme emphasises that Pride is not only about being visible, but also about having the courage to exist openly and authentically.
“Pride is about visibility, but above all about daring to be who you are,” the organisers say. “About laughing loudly, loving gently, and choosing again and again to be yourself — even when the world does not always seem ready to welcome you.”
The concept of ‘Fearless’ does not suggest a world without fear. Instead, it highlights the decision to continue moving forward despite it. Organisers underline that strength often comes from community: in friendships, chosen families and the shared experience of standing together.
Antwerp Pride also stresses that the event remains both a celebration and a statement. The Pride movement, they say, continues to remind society that LGBTQIA+ voices are still needed — not only to assert their existence, but to celebrate a future in which the community cannot be erased.
Every gesture of visibility, whether holding hands in public or displaying rainbow symbols, carries a message: “We are here. We are together. We are Fearless”.
The organisers describe the theme as an invitation to anyone who has ever doubted themselves — a moment to claim their space and live without apology.
More than a parade, Antwerp Pride aims to remain a movement sustained every day by people who show courage simply by being themselves.
“Be fearless”, the organisers conclude. “For yourself. For each other. For the future we are building together.”
