The first Antwerp.Fashion Festival will transform the Belgian city into a global stage for fashion from 4 to 7 June 2026. Organised by the City of Antwerp, Flanders District of Creativity, and MoMu – Fashion Museum Antwerp, the festival aims to celebrate both established names and a new generation of designers, reinforcing Antwerp’s reputation as a leading international fashion capital.
A city-wide celebration
The festival will feature a diverse programme of shows, installations, exhibitions, talks, and events, spread across the city centre. Highlights include immersive installations by designers such as Brandon Wen and Christian Wijnants, who will present his autumn/winter 2026 collection, ‘From Earth to Sky‘, in Antwerp for the first time. Walter Van Beirendonck will also mark his 40th anniversary with a special show, ‘40 Years of Dreaming the World Awake‘.
Other participating brands and designers include Essentiel Antwerp, Façon Jacmin, GMR – Garments by Max Reynders, Marcel Sommer, Marie Bernadette Woehrl, Nadav Perlman, Julie Kegels, and Florentina Leitner.
Many of these will collaborate with local shops, cafés, and ateliers to create unique installations and events, such as Bernadette’s debut of its short fashion film, ‘The Hostess‘, and Café Costume’s colourful photography exhibition.
Exhibitions and cultural highlights
The festival coincides with the 40th anniversary of the international breakthrough of the Antwerp Six: Dirk Bikkembergs, Ann Demeulemeester, Walter Van Beirendonck, Dries Van Noten, Dirk Van Saene, and Marina Yee.
Their legacy will be celebrated with a major exhibition, ‘The Antwerp Six‘, at MoMu, running from 28 March 2026 to 17 January 2027.
Additional exhibitions include ‘KMSKA x Young Fashion Designers‘, curated by Elke Hoste, and the annual ‘SHOW‘ by the fashion department of the Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp, showcasing the work of emerging talent.
Accessible and inclusive
The Antwerp.Fashion Festival is designed to be open and accessible, with many events free to the public. It seeks to lower the barrier to the fashion sector, inviting both locals and visitors to explore the city’s creative energy.
The festival’s organisers hope to sustainably strengthen Antwerp’s position as a hub for innovation, whimsy, and non-conformism in fashion.
