Brussels Airlines is preparing for summer 2027 by adding Cairo in Egypt as a new destination and increasing frequencies to Kilimanjaro in Tanzania. On its European network, the airline will add capacity to several popular holiday destinations, including Funchal, Málaga, and Nice, while continuing its service to Evenes in Northern Norway.
Brussels Airlines continues to diversify and optimize its network for the summer 2027 season, responding to strong customer demand and further strengthening connectivity between Belgium, Africa, and Europe.
Cairo joins the network
The Belgian home carrier plans to welcome Cairo as a new destination to its network in summer 2027 with up to five weekly flights. The airline intends to initially operate the route during the summer season and has the ambition to expand it to a year-round service. The first flight is planned for Monday March 29 2027.
Cairo combines ancient history with vibrant city life and a culinary scene worth discovering. Earlier this year, the Grand Egyptian Museum in Cairo opened its doors and is expected to attract millions of visitors per year.
Following the successful launch of Kilimanjaro in June 2026, Brussels Airlines will further strengthen its presence in Tanzania by adding a third weekly flight from the end of June.
Just one year after the route’s launch, this additional rotation reflects the strong demand seen since its introduction and offers travellers greater flexibility to explore one of East Africa‘s most iconic destinations.
More European destinations, from Mediterranean Sea beaches to Nordic landscapes
On its European network, Brussels Airlines will continue to respond to growing leisure demand by adding frequencies to several popular destinations.
Additional flights will be added to Funchal (Madeira), Málaga (Spain) and Nice (France) offering customers more choice and improved connectivity during the peak summer season.
Travellers looking to escape the summer heat can also head north to Evenes in Northern Norway, a gateway to the stunning landscapes of the Arctic region, which will continue to be served during summer 2027.
